How long are playgroup sessions?

Playgroup sessions run for 6-8 weeks, depending on the season, statutory holidays and scheduled breaks. Our 2024-2025 sessions will primarily be 8 weeks!

Each group meets once per week on a pre assigned day and time.

Do group times have wiggle room?

Groups have the option to discuss amongst themselves if they’d like to alter timing slightly as the needs of the groups change. Many groups choose to bump times by an hour as nap math evolves!

Does my membership expire?

Yes. Your membership will expire automatically on the final Friday of your playgroup session.

You have the option to renew for another session after this one ends.

How much is one session?

One session is 69.99. Our aim is to keep this as affordable as possible in order to prevent financial barriers. If you are unable to commit to this rate, please reach out privately.  If you’d like to sign up for a second group, the rate is 40% off your second group! Use the code DOUBLE40 on your second sign up.

What if I have more than one child?

Our prices are per family. We have had many parents of multiples attend our groups. Twins, triplets, 2 under 2 - or even 3 under 3 (Yep, it happens!), your membership is for your household. When it comes to tiny humans - the more the merrier!

Are there any additional fees?

Technically, no. Some events will have discounted rates to locations that have an entry fee (example: half price at  Jump for Joy), however there is no purchase necessary at restaurants or businesses we partner with outside of the occasional entry fee. Every effort is made to ensure these events are as financially accessible as possible. *New* this session, some groups will only attend free spaces.

When will I receive my group calendar and WhatsApp link?

You will choose your preferred group at checkout. Your whatsapp link will be send in a confirmation email upon sign up. Schedules are the profile photo for the Whatsapp chat. 

Will meetup spots be shared in advance?

Yes, groups get their schedules via the whatsapp chat. Sessions are as localized as possible with the intention of the majority of meetups being within walking/TTC distance of each neighborhood. 

Do meetups  vary in terms of day, location and time?

Kind of!  Groups  are the same day and time each week with the locations changing within the same neighbourhood

Are there more than one per week? 

There are 2-3 per day that run consecutively or during different times of day. Membership is for a once per week meetup planned by EEMF.

Can you attend events in different location groups?

Groups are set for consistency, however you can join as many as you like, but would pay a separate membership fee for each group you’re in.  The code DOUBLE24 will get you a discounted rate for your second group. Many of our pilot program groups began meeting during other days and times as well!

Can I change groups after one has been assigned to me?

Yes! After groups are assigned, you will have one week to reach out to switch to another group. With the new system we do not foresee many changes being needed, as the checkout form is curated to ensure the best options available. We ask that if you need to switch groups you only attend the new groups sessions in order to maintain consistency.

 Can dads, grandparents and nannies sign up too?

Absolutely! Dads, grandparents, and caregivers are welcome and encouraged to join in the fun. Many of our pilot programs both parents attended events together! Our dad specific group meets on Wednesdays.

Can I pay for someone else’s membership?
Absolutely! You can sign up on their behalf using their email, or if you would like to sponsor a subsidized space you can reach out to Trish directly to do so (mailto:hello@eastendmomfriends.com) 

What if I can’t attend all playgroup days in my session?

Unfortunately, this is the nature of tiny humans. They get sick, they sleep through events, or surprise visits from family happen. If you are going to be unable to attend multiple session and would like to cancel your membership, you may do this up until the first day of classes. After this there will be no refunds, however you may transfer your membership to a friend, or donate it as a subsidized spot for a member in financial need. Our refund policy is outlined prior to checkout.

Can I be in the same group as last session?

Yes! We make new groups each session, however you can totally sign up with your pals again! When entering your checkout information, there will be a box to select your previous group. Members will be added and removed as individually requested. 

How will timing work?

Timing is based off of previous groups requests, and the ever changing nap math. Groups have the option to switch timing if need be once groups are formed.

Am I expected to pay for anything additional, or sign up for any additional services in order to be a member of the playgroups?

No. Members of this group will not be solicited in any way. The occasional entry fee for specialty events may be required, but there is no expectation to sign up for memberships or services of outside businesses. Your contact information will also not be shared with outside businesses without your consent.

What if my baby’s nap time changes drastically during the duration of the group?

This happens! Groups have the option to collectively decide to alter their meet time slightly to accommodate the changing needs of the tiny humans.
